Melissa McGovern Taylor has been writing fiction for over a decade. She has a BA in writing from Methodist University, and her writing credits include fiction and nonfiction in local, national, and international publications. She released her first novel, The Road to Mercy, in 2010. In 2011, she received a local artist grant to support completion of her second novel, Enemy of Gideon, which she went on to publish in 2014. Her short story, "Gabe", won first place in the Salvation Army Writers Contest in 2013.
After teaching middle school for several years, Melissa began writing middle grade fiction. She currently splits her time between teaching in a small private school and writing middle grade novels. She lives in Smithfield, North Carolina, with her family and two spoiled dogs.
